Every tomorrow has two handles. We can take hold of it with the handle of anxiety or the handle of faith.
                        ~ Henry Ward Beecher

Ego love is good, but limited, sometimes forced, or has an agenda (even carrying out the mental plan, "I'm going to be a loving person"). Spiritual love, on the other hand, is quite different. Spiritual love is more like turning up the wattage on a light bulb so everyone can bask in its soft, warm glow. It's an unlimited love, not forced, with no agenda other than channeling this other-worldly love you have discovered and and sharing it with others.
                        ~ Jay Morgan

*********************************

truth is perfect and complete in itself. it always exists. it is not far away, but ever near. we do not walk to it, but our every step is made possible by it. therefore, do not follow other persons' thoughts and philosophy - but learn to listen to the voice within yourself.
                        ~ shri brahmananda sarasva

*********************************

Everything you've ever done, every person you've ever met, every experience you've ever had, is a part of who you are today...adding interesting layers to your being, and colorful depths to your soul. Everything needed to be as it was, so you could grow as you did and do.
                        ~ Karen Salmansohn

*********************************

Nothing can be delicious when you are holding your breath.
                         ~ Anne Lamott

*********************************

To love life through labor is to be intimate with life's inmost secret. All work is empty save when there is love, for work is love made visible.
                        ~ Kahlil Gibran

*********************************

The true self, once discovered, is the source of creativity, intelligence and personal growth. No external solution has such power.
                        ~ Deepak Chopra

*********************************

When you're always trying to conform to the norm, you lose your uniqueness, which can be the foundation for your greatness.
                        ~ Dale Archer

The mind thinks of everything you can lose. The heart thinks of everything you can give, and the soul thinks of everything you are

Open-ended experience

What you’re able to do is not a function of what other people think of you or allow you to do. What you’re able to do depends on what you expect of yourself and on what you choose to do with your time.

If you allow others to define you, then you enable them to control you. Choose instead to take full responsibility for your own life, and to do whatever is necessary to bring real fulfillment.

The world will throw all sorts of assumptions your way about what is possible and what is not possible. Look beyond the presumptions and limitations that others imagine, and connect with your own highest vision of how life can be.

The fact is, you can achieve what you set your mind and your efforts to achieve, with honor, integrity and joy. Life is an open-ended experience, and the results you achieve come from what you expect to achieve and what you work to achieve.

Certainly, you can be fruitfully guided by the past experiences in your own life and in the lives of others. Yet nothing about what has already been has to stand in the way of the best you can now be.

Focus less on what others think of you, and more on bringing your own unique beauty more fully to life. Make the commitment to live each moment with richness and authentic purpose, and show all of life how very much goodness you’re able to give.
                        ~ Ralph Marston

Willingness to Feel
Opening to Understanding

When we are resisting something based on a limited understanding, we must then open ourselves to willingness.

There are times when we may find ourselves struggling or even fighting with our thoughts and emotions. We may feel that something must be done in a certain way or not at all, or there may be some other situation that feels absolutely black and white. But life is not this way ~ it's the way we are looking at our experiences that is causing the turmoil within us. When we become aware that the struggle we are having is with ourselves, we can turn our attention to the source in order to solve the problem, but we must be being willing to look where we need to and feel emotions that may make us uncomfortable at first. Then we can choose to really open ourselves to understanding all the options we can imagine. We are likely to discover that we are resisting something based on a limited understanding, and we must then open ourselves to willingness.

When we are willing to look at all the possibilities, we also become willing to accept that there is room for more than we can imagine. We can release ourselves from the grip we had on our emotions and stop limiting ourselves. We may have been unwilling to experience feeling loss, confusion, fear, or even joy for some reason or another, but when we realize that our understanding was limited we allow space for the universe to move in our lives.

Opening ourselves to willingness may feel like we are surrendering or abandoning all that we believed. But at the same time it is an act of power and courage because it is a conscious choice we make about how to apply our personal will. Being willing is to be in a state of willing something into creation. It is at once allowing ourselves to be while also choosing to direct our energy in a focused way. It is being and doing from a place of openness, where we can work with the universe rather than resist it. It is an open hand rather than one that is clenched into a fist. When we make a step toward willingness, we open ourselves to truth, possibility, and the movement of the wise universe in and through our lives.

SHE LET GO

By Ernest Holmes

She let go. Without a thought or word, she let go.
She let go of the fear. She let go of the judgments. She let go of the confluence of opinions swarming around her head. She let go of the committee of indecision within her. She let go of all the "right" reasons. Wholly and completely, without hesitation or worry,
she just let go.

She didn't ask anyone for advice. She didn't read a book on how to let go.
She didn't search the scriptures. She just let go. She let go of all the memories that held her back. She let go of all the anxiety that kept her from moving forward. She let go of the planning and all the calculations about how to do it just right.
She just let go.

She didn't promise to let go. She didn't journal about it. She didn't write the projected date date in her Day-Timer. She made no public announcement and put no ad in the paper. She didn't check the weather report or read her daily horoscope.
She just let go.

She didn't analyze whether she should let go. She didn't call her friends
to discuss the matter. She didn't do a five-step Spiritual Mind Treatment.
She didn't call the prayer line, She didn't utter one word.
She just let go.

No one was around when it happened. There was no applause
or congratulations. No one thanked her or praised her. No one noticed
a thing. Like a leaf falling from a tree,
she just let go.

There was no effort. There was no struggle. It wasn't good and it wasn't bad. It was what it was, and it is just that.

In the space of letting go, she let it all be. A small smile came over her face.
A light breeze blew through her.
And the sun and the moon shone forever more.

Notes from the Universe

A main "Criterion of Consciousness" for the human experience, is never having all you want. For as one dream comes true, another swiftly takes its place. Not having all you want is one of life's constants.
And learning to be happy while not yet having all you want is the first "Criterion of Joy." Nail it, and for the rest of your life people will be asking what it is about you.

Desire is a beautiful thing.

Do you ever wonder where all those glorious seconds, minutes, and hours go that recently poured through your fingers on an idle weekend or a cool evening, when suddenly you feel like you're racing the clock on some crazed, hurried weekday?

Nowhere. They're still there, lazing around. They just look different when you focus upon what you haven't done, instead of what you have done.

Your output is legendary,
    The Universe

****************************

The real reason your brain is so large, compared to most of the other blessed creatures dwelling in time and space, is so that you can vividly imagine all the exquisite, exciting, and enthralling details of your heart's desires; not so that you can figure out who you need to meet, when you need to meet them, where you need to be, or how you're going to pull it all together.

Your brain's not nearly that big.

But mine is,
    The Universe

Asking someone to change is like pruning a tree: neither will ever be the same again.

Scarier still, is that you can't quite know in what new directions they'll grow.

But hey, it's still your call.

Tallyho,
    The Universe

Little else you say can change so much in the life of another as words of praise, compliments, or encouragement.

Way to go, beautiful -
    The Universe

****************************

Go way out.

Think beyond your present dreams, to the dreams you will have once they've already come true.

And when you can clearly see that life and those dreams in your mind's eye - how confident you will walk and how proud you will feel - start walking and feeling like that today.

Far out,
    The Universe

'The Teachings of Abraham' by Esther and Jerry Hicks

We come forth not to alter your beliefs, but to reacquaint you with the Eternal Laws of the Universe so that you may intentionally be the creator that you have come forth to be, for there is not another who attracts into your experience that which you are getting—you are doing it all.

We come forth not to get you to believe anything, for there is not that which you believe that we do not want you to believe. And as we are viewing this wondrous physical Earth plane, we see great diversity in that which you believe—and in all of that diversity, there is perfect balance.

****************************

You can be fully satisfied with where you are, understanding that you're eternally evolving. When you get into that place of feeling appreciation of where you are and of who you are, and appreciation of what you are, and you accept that you are a never-ending, always unfolding Being, then you can stand in that delicate balance of being optimistic about what is to come, without being unhappy about where you stand. Find a way of eagerly anticipating future changes, while at the same time you are in love and satisfied with who, what, where and how you be.

****************************

A very good career choice would be to gravitate toward those activities and to embrace those desires that harmonize with your core intentions, which are freedom and growth—and joy. Make a "career" of living a happy life rather than trying to find work that will produce enough income that you can do things with your money that will then make you happy. When feeling happy is of paramount importance to you—and what you do "for a living" makes you happy—you have found the best of all combinations.

****************************

If you've got somebody's aspects in your experience that you don't like, there's only one reason they're there. You keep evoking them with your attention to them. Without knowing about Law of Attraction, you have — through your old habit of observation — achieved vibrational harmony with the parts of them that you do not like, and you keep summoning those parts from them by your constant vibrational offering of them.

One Minute Motivator by Edward W. Smith

If you want someone to pay attention to you, pay attention to him or her first.  Look and act like you care, and actually caring is even better. Show interest.  No one ever get into trouble by showing too much interest, enthusiasm, etc, for the things they are involved in. If you want special attention from your boss, coach, teacher, etc, you must pay special attention to them first.  Do what they want, ask questions, pay attention, show up, etc? If you show interest, they will naturally share more time, information and support for you.  And just by the fact that you are more interested, you will move ahead faster on you own, as well.

****************************

The master will appear, when the student is ready.  This quote will help you to keep the faith that things will be there when you need them.  Keep working on your goals, your projects, etc, even though you don't have all the answers.  Things will appear; just when you need them the most and you will attain your goals, if you keep going.

****************************

You have two things that guarantee you can be successful.  First you have potential you don't even know about and haven't tapped into yet.  Second, you don't have much competition.  Most people aren't going all out, not trying hard, or even trying.  So if you want to be successful, give it your all and chances are you will make it.

****************************

Brian Tracy says that obstacles are instructions, not obstructions.  When you hit a setback, step back and look at what it is telling you.  You are off course, and need to get back on course. So figure out what the obstacle is telling you, then set a new course and go back at it.

****************************

Realize that you only have a certain number of days left, and then decide how you want to live them.  Are you planning your life or your death?  Most people think about death 2 times every 15 minutes.  How often do you think of what you are going to do while you are still alive? Live each day with the understanding that it could be your final day and make sure you don't waste your precious time.  Each night as you go to bed, be able to put your head on the pillow and say, "I'm glad I did", instead of "I'm sorry I did". Your life is going by second, by second, and it can work for you or against you.  You have 86,400 seconds in a day, and it seems like a lot, but your future is determined by each one of those seconds.  Your life is lived one second at a time, and you can squander those seconds or your can invest them, the choice is yours. Learn to value each day, because if you use the average life span of men of 74 and women of 77, and subtract how old you are now from that, you will see on average, how many years you have left to live.  Don't you think you should start living your life now? Don't treat your life like you have a spare in the trunk.  Live life for now, there is no dress rehearsal for life. Pay attention to how you live your life and whom you live it with.  Life is very short and every second counts whether we know it or not.  Take your life more seriously and pay attention to how you are spending your time.
