Monday/Tuesday nuggets!

When our eyes see our hands doing the work of our hearts, the circle of creation is completed inside us, the doors of our souls fly open and love steps forth to heal everything in sight.
                       ~ Michael Bridge

If you are distressed by anything external, the pain is not due to the thing itself but your own estimate of it; and this you have the power to revoke at any moment.
                        ~ Marcus Aurelius

********************************************

You have to ask yourself, 'Does this item or thought or response move me closer to my vision for my best life?' If it does, great. If it doesn't, what is it doing in your life?
                       ~ Peter Walsh

********************************************

You must learn day by day, year by year, to broaden your horizon. The more things you love, the more you are interested in, the more you enjoy, the more you are indignant about, the more you have left when anything happens.

Regret

The Weight of the Past

Holding onto regret is like dragging the weight of the past with us everywhere we go.

It drains our energy, leaving less available for life in the present because we are constantly feeding an old issue. This attachment can cause illness the same way watering a dead plant creates decay. We know that something new and beautiful can grow in its place if we only prepare the soil and plant the right seeds. We also know that we create our lives from our thoughts, so dwelling on the past may actually recreate a situation in our lives where we are forced to make the choice again and again. We can choose to move on right now by applying what we have learned to the present and perhaps even sharing with others, transforming the energy into something that is constructive and creative for ourselves and others.

Forgiveness is the soothing balm that can heal regret. In meditation, we can imagine discussing the issue with the self of our past and offering our forgiveness for the choice. In return, we can ask for our selves‚ forgiveness for keeping them locked in that space of judgment for so long. We may also want to ask forgiveness from anyone else who may have been affected and perhaps offer our forgiveness. By replaying the event in our minds, we can choose a new ending using all that we now know. Imagine that you have actually gone back into the past and made this change, and then say goodbye to it. Release your former self with a hug and bring the forgiveness and love back with you to the present. Since we are usually our harshest critics, it is amazing how powerfully healing it can be to offer ourselves love.

Keeping our minds and our energy fully in the present allows us to fuel our physical and emotional healing and well-being today. This action frees our energy to create the dreams we dream for the future. By taking responsibility and action in the present, we can release our hold on the past.

A Note from the Universe

However safe you might think you are right now, you are even safer.

However much you might think you are loved and guided right now, you are loved and guided even more.

And however likely you feel your future happiness is to blossom, let me assure you, it is, in fact, inevitable. Eternally.

It's simply that from within the jungles of time and space none of what I just shared is obvious, even as I hold you in the palm of my hand, because you've accepted what is unquestionably the single most daunting challenge I've ever imagined: to forget that we are one.

Good on you,
    The Universe

Offer a vibration that matches your desire rather than offering a vibration that keeps matching what-is.
~ 'The Teachings of Abraham' by Esther and Jerry Hicks

********************************************

Be kind to someone and you will get an increase in energy.  Do a favor for someone, and you will feel better right away.  Doing something nice, or helping someone in some way makes us feel better, so if you want to feel better, one way to do it, is to do something nice for someone else. You have helped someone else and you have helped yourself in the process, so that is a win win for all concerned.

Daily Teaching from The Power

The World Inside Your Body

There is an entire world inside you! To realize the power you have over your body, you need to know about this world - because all of it is under your command!

All the cells in your body have a role to play, and they work together for the sole purpose of giving you life. Some cells are the leaders of particular regions or organs, and they manage and direct all the working cells in their region, like your heart, brain, liver, kidneys and lungs. The leader cell of an organ directs and manage all the other cells working in that organ, ensuring order and harmony so the organ works perfectly. Patrol cells travel throughout the sixty thousand miles of blood vessels in your body to maintain order and peace. When there is a disturbance, such as a scratch to the skin, the patrol cells immediately signal the alert, and the appropriate repair team rushes to the area. For a scratch, the first on the scene is the blood-clotting team, and they work to arrest the blood flow. After their work is done, the tissue and skin teams move in to do the repair work to the area, mending the tissue, and sealing the skin.

Weekend catch-up nuggets!

TGIF! Please enjoy this plethora of weekend catch-up nuggets, including 'The Invitation', one my absolute favs, which I am sharing again :-)

LETTING THERE BE ROOM

Things falling apart is a kind of testing and also a kind of healing. We think that the point is to pass the test or to overcome the problem, but the truth is that things don’t really get solved. They come together and they fall apart. Then they come together again and fall apart again. It’s just like that. The healing comes from letting there be room for all of this to happen: room for grief, for relief, for misery, for joy.
                        ~ Pema Chodron

The Invitation

It doesn’t interest me
what you do for a living.
I want to know
what you ache for
and if you dare to dream
of meeting your heart’s longing.

It doesn’t interest me
how old you are.
I want to know
if you will risk
looking like a fool
for love
for your dream
for the adventure of being alive.

It doesn’t interest me
what planets are
squaring your moon...
I want to know
if you have touched
the centre of your own sorrow
if you have been opened
by life’s betrayals
or have become shrivelled and closed
from fear of further pain.

I want to know
if you can sit with pain
mine or your own
without moving to hide it
or fade it
or fix it.

I want to know
if you can be with joy
mine or your own
if you can dance with wildness
and let the ecstasy fill you
to the tips of your fingers and toes
without cautioning us
to be careful
to be realistic
to remember the limitations
of being human.

It doesn’t interest me
if the story you are telling me
is true.
I want to know if you can
disappoint another
to be true to yourself.
If you can bear
the accusation of betrayal
and not betray your own soul.
If you can be faithless
and therefore trustworthy.

I want to know if you can see Beauty
even when it is not pretty
every day.
And if you can source your own life
from its presence.

I want to know
if you can live with failure
yours and mine
and still stand at the edge of the lake
and shout to the silver of the full moon,
“Yes.”

It doesn’t interest me
to know where you live
or how much money you have.
I want to know if you can get up
after the night of grief and despair
weary and bruised to the bone
and do what needs to be done
to feed the children.

It doesn’t interest me
who you know
or how you came to be here.
I want to know if you will stand
in the centre of the fire
with me
and not shrink back.

It doesn’t interest me
where or what or with whom
you have studied.
I want to know
what sustains you
from the inside
when all else falls away.

I want to know
if you can be alone
with yourself
and if you truly like
the company you keep
in the empty moments.

Moving through Darkness

The Places We Go
Often it takes something major to wake us up as we struggle to maintain an illusion of control.

In life, most of us want things to go to the places we have envisioned ourselves going. We have plans and visions, some of them divinely inspired, that we want to see through to completion. We want to be happy, successful, and healthy, all of which are perfectly natural and perfectly human. So when life takes us to places we didn't consciously want to go, we often feel as if something has gone wrong, or we must have made a mistake somewhere along the line, or any number of other disheartening possibilities. This is just life's way of taking us to a place we need to go for reasons that go deeper than our own ability to reason. These hard knocks and trials are designed to shed light on our unconscious workings and deepen our experience of reality.

Often it takes something major to wake us up, to shake us loose from our ego's grip as it struggles to maintain an illusion of control. It is loss of control more than anything else that humbles us and enables us to see the big picture. It reminds us that the key to the universe lies in what we do not know, and what we do know is a small fraction of the great mystery in which we live. This awareness softens and lightens us, as we release our resistance to what is. Another gift gleaned from going to these seemingly undesirable places is that, in our response to difficulty, we can see all the patterns and unresolved emotional baggage that stand in the way of our unconditional joyfulness. Joy exists within us independently of whether things go our way or not. And when we don't feel it, we can trust that we will find it if we are willing to surrender to the situation, moving through it as we move through our difficult feelings.

We can take our inspiration from any fairy tale that finds its central character lost in a dark woods, frightened and alone. We know that the journey through the wood provides its own kind of beauty and richness. On the other side, we will emerge transformed, lighter and brighter, braver and more confident for having moved through that darkness.

You don't even have to ask.

I know, I'm there, and I'm already busy.

When just starting out on a new journey, it's only natural to feel vulnerable. After all, it may seem that you have much to lose. But may I remind you that never again, at any other point in your journey, will you have so much to gain as you will if you start today?

I'll take that as a "Yes."

Tallyho,

It may seem a bit backwards for some, but the first step one might take towards rearranging the present circumstances of their life is to stop dwelling upon the present circumstances of their life.

But for you it's probably a no-brainer.

    The Universe

Just because someone may find fault, cast stones, or disagree with you, doesn't mean they don't adore you.

Actually, it's these same folks who usually do.

It's not from the known, but the unknown, that creativity and inventiveness are born.

Turn away from the predictable, cliché, and reliable. Brave the void where the darkness is greatest. Trust the quiet, find the stillness, feel the calm. Then steadily think, speak, and move as if you were led. Behave as if your vision were clear. Anticipate the emotional rush that will come with your triumph. And as if by magic, as you raise your pen to write, you'll find the words have already been summoned, flooded in light that was there all along, in a world that has just as anxiously anticipated your arrival.

Just don't let them worship you.

The Teachings of Abraham by Esther and Jerry Hicks

You cannot worry about someone and love them at the same time. Most people mistake the emotion of worry for the emotion of love. They think that worrying about somebody means that you love them.

***************************

When your heart is singing, you are allowing Well-being. When you are appreciating, you are allowing Well-being. When you are yelling at somebody, you're not. When you're feeling insecure, you're not. When you're frustrated, you're not.
***************************

While it is obvious that a good-feeling body makes for a more pleasant physical experience, we want you to understand that finding pleasant things to focus upon also makes for a good-feeling body.

However, most humans are approaching the subject of their physical well-being in a backward manner. Most people who are experiencing physical ailments let their physical condition dictate their mental attitude. In other words, their emotions are responsive to their physical condition. When they are in pain, they offer emotions of frustration, worry, anger, or fear. They want the condition to improve so that their emotional state can improve.

Any illness, or departure from physical well-being, begins at a cellular level—but the overwhelming propensity of your cells is that of thriving. All day, every day, your cells are reclaiming balance at such refined and subtle levels that most people are completely unaware of the power and intelligence of their cellular bodies.

Focusing upon good-feeling objects of attention is the most effective way of providing the optimum environment for allowing unhindered cellular communication and the ultimate thriving of your physical body.

***************************

Don't let any place that you are standing frighten you. All it is, is a by product of some Energy alignment, which only gives you stronger clarity about what you want — and, most importantly, greater sensitivity about whether you're in a receiving mode or locked off of it.

One Minute Motivators by Edward W. Smith

Success comes from failure. Failure teaches you what doesn't work, and if you learn from your mistakes, you can move ahead faster. Every time you learn something, you get closer to your goal and failure certainly gives you the chance to learn something. Few Successful people made it to the top without making mistakes and many of them would say they made it because of their mistakes. Learn from your mistakes and head for the top.

Talk and be nice to other people. Treat other people with respect and courtesy. It reflects well on yourself and will make your dealings with other people go smoother. Start from a positive position with other people, as well as yourself. Listen and learn from other people, treat them with respect and be polite whenever possible. We get what we give in this world, and this applies to our dealings with other people as well.

Daily Teaching from The Power

Being healthy is feeling the same way as little children feel. Little children are bursting with energy every day. Their bodies feel light and flexible; moving is effortless. They're light on their feet. Their minds are clear; they're happy, and free of worry and stress. They sleep deeply and peacefully every night, and they wake up feeling completely refreshed, as if with a brand-new body. They feel passionate and excited about every new day. Look at little children and you will see what being healthy really means. It is the way you used to feel, and it is the way you should still  feel!

You can feel this way most of the time, because unlimited health is available to you unceasingly through the force of love! There is never a second that anything is withheld from you. Whatever you want is yours, and that includes unlimited health. But you have to open the door to receive it!

What Do You  Believe?

"For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he."
~ King Solomon (Circa 10th Century BC)
Biblical King of Israel, in Proverbs 23:7

There are among the greatest words of wisdom ever given, but what do they mean, "For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he"?

What you think in your heart is what you believe to be true. Beliefs are simply repeated thoughts with strong feelings attached to them like, "I catch colds easily,", I have a sensitive stomach," "I find it hard to lose weight," "I'm allergic to that," "Coffee keeps me awake." All of these are beliefs, not facts. A belief is when you have made up your mind, the verdict is in, you've nailed the door shut and thrown away the key, and there is no room for negotiation. But whatever you believe and feel is true will be true for you, whether your beliefs help you or harm you. Whatever beliefs you give out, the law of attraction says you must receive back.

Many people have more fearful beliefs about disease than they have good beliefs about health. It's not surprising because of the attention that is given to disease in the world, and you are surrounded by that every day. In spite of all the advances in medicine, disease is increasing because people have become increasingly fearful of disease.

Do you have more good feelings about your health than you have negative feelings about disease? Do you believe in lifelong health more than you believe in the inevitability of disease? If you believe that your body will deteriorate with age and that disease is inevitable, you are giving out that belief, and the law of attraction must return it to you clothed as the circumstances and state of your health and body.

"For the thing that I fear comes upon me, and what I dread befalls me."
                                                ~ Job 3:25

The placebo effect in medicine is proof of the power of belief. One group of patients is given real pills or treatment, and another group is given the placebo - a sugar pill or fake treatment - but neither is told which one is a cure for their symptoms or illness. Yet the group that gets the placebo often experiences significant improvements and the reduction or disappearance of symptoms. The startling results of the placebo effect regularly demonstrate the power of beliefs on our body. What you continually give to your body with your beliefs or strong feelings, you must receive in your body.

Every feeling you have saturates every cell and organ in your entire body. When you have good feelings, you are giving love and you receive the full force of health through your body at an astounding rate. When you have bad feelings, the tension causes your nerves and cells to contracts, the vital chemical production in your body changes, your blood vessels contract, and your breathing becomes shallow, all of which reduces the force of health in your organs and your entire body. Disease is simply the result of a body's not being at ease over a long period of time, because of negative feelings like stress, worry and fear.

" Your emotions affect every cell in your body. Mind and body, mental and physical, are                         intertwined."
                                        ~  Thomas Cutko (B. 1931)

In life's ordinary and extraordinary occurrences, how are we to align ourselves with the grand design of Existence so that we may become emissaries of peace, vehicles of the evolutionary impulse governing the universe? Let us contemplate that question today.

Just because you’re afraid, doesn’t mean you’re in danger. Just because you feel alone, doesn’t mean nobody loves you. Just because you think you might fail, doesn’t mean you will. Look beyond your doubts and keep searching for the truth. Be aware of your mental self-talk. We all talk silently to ourselves in our heads, but we aren’t always conscious of what we’re saying or how it’s affecting us. The way to overcome negative thoughts and destructive emotions is to develop opposing, positive thoughts and emotions that are stronger and more powerful. Listen to your self-talk and replace negative thoughts with positive ones. The sun is always shining on some part of your life. Sometimes you just have to forget how you feel, remember what you deserve, and keep pushing forward.

Life Lessons I've Learned...

  • The world is not out to get you. There is no big conspiracy against you.
  • Everything and everyone has come into your life to help and guide you in some manner. Be open to it.
  • No matter what is going on around you, you have the choice on how you want to react and ultimately feel.
  • Your life is blessed every single day, in so many ways, and when you begin to realize that, you will begin to see your whole life as one continuous miracle!
  • Every person and situation is a teacher and a lesson. Be open to it all!
  • The world and your life really are how you perceive them, not what others say. That's their perception.
  • When you're ready for change, your life will change. All you have to do is say the words.
  • Taking risks/chances only improves your life. You grow from it no matter the outcome.
  • No matter what has happened in your life that keeps you feeling "stuck" and not moving forward, you can overcome anything if you give yourself the gift of forgiveness.
  • Your past does not dictate your future.
  • Love really does exist. Not over there, not in him or her, or in that car or that job. Stop the wild goose chase, it's been in YOU all along.
  • You were born for greatness and only YOU choose to fulfill this calling or not.
  • Finally, LIFE GOES ON!

A Note from the Universe

What if every wrinkle, scar, or gray hair only made you more beautiful? What if every tear you've shed, mistake you've made, and challenge you've faced, only drew you closer to the light? And what if, for every breath you've taken, every sentence you've spoken, and every path you've chosen, your fans in the unseen multiplied?

Well, I'd say it's about time you found out.

Be proud, we are -

As you practice your more positive, better-feeling story, in time your pleasure will become the dominant vibration within you, and then as you couple your pleasure with your means of earning, the two will blend perfectly and enhance each other.

There is no better way to earn money than to do the things that you love to do. Money can flow into your experience through endless avenues. It is not the choice of the craft that limits the money that flows—but only your attitude toward money.

Eliminate "I'll try" from your vocabulary.  As soon as you say, "try", you know you can't do it, you won't do it, and it's over.  "Try" weakens your self-confidence and gives you an out you are sure to take.  You know when others say they will "try", it isn't going to happen, and it is the same for us.  Learn to say, "I will" and if necessary learn to explain why something didn't work and how it will be better next time.

Thursday nuggets

Wabi-Sabi – the Japanese aesthetic of beauty

We live in a world where new is good – perfection is strived for – and young is beauty. We thought however that we would share with you today a beautiful aesthetic that the Japanese believe in – it is the principal of Wabi-Sabi. In a nutshell, Wabi-sabi is the Japanese art of finding beauty in imperfection and accepting the natural cycle of growth. It is simple, uncluttered and it values authenticity above all else. Wabi-Sabi is about flea markets instead of big box stores and malls; it’s about aging wood, not laminate...the principles of Wabi-sabi celebrate the cracks and crevices.

It is so easy to disgard what isn’t new and forget what has aged – but stop and look closely next time at a pot that isn’t perfect – a flower that isn’t fully standing tall – or the aged face of the people around you – they all have a story to tell.
                        ~ Namaste' Om

It takes more courage to reveal insecurities than to hide them, more strength to relate to people than to dominate them, more 'manhood' to abide by thought-out principles rather than blind reflex. Toughness is in the soul and spirit, not in muscles and an immature mind.

Making decisions based on fear

Are you making choices based on fear? Afraid of taking a chance on YOU? Afraid of failing or succeeding? Afraid you can't control the outcome? Afraid you might grow? Afraid to LIVE outside of your comfort zone?
When we make decisions based on fear, we block our blessings. Learning how to detach from outcomes while holding on to your positive intentions takes skill, but it's not impossible. When we worry and are consequently afraid of making powerful choices for ourselves, it is counter-productive. When we choose to do or NOT do things based on fear, we hold ourselves hostage. It is your responsibility to live a FULL life. How? Your choices determine how FULL your life experiences will and can be.

I have made some power-FULL choices in my life based on fear too so you're not alone. However, when I realized that I was only hurting myself, I made a change. I then chose to take the fear WITH me instead of letting it keep me at a standstill. Life is about the experiences along the way. You won't get out alive anyway as they say so why not REALLY live? Why not do the things you REALLY want to do without reservation? I'm not saying be reckless, but do live with FAITH in your heart KNOWING that your needs will be and are being met. How you perceive a situation is exactly how it will play out.

The more you fear change, the faster it will show up in your life because you see what you resist DOES indeed persist. Things will show up and you will wonder WHY -- you are the reason why. It is through your thoughts, feelings and actions that experiences are born. What are you birthing in your life right now? What are you so focused on that has you ultimately stuck? What are you afraid of?

Don't make decisions based on fear. It will get you nowhere FAST and the thing you are determined to avoid WILL show up anyway because the passion behind your fear will bring it to you. Just relax. Enjoy the moments of your life. Make great empowering choices for yourself based on POSITIVE intention, not fear. Watch what happens next!

You're really not wanting to limit beliefs because belief is just perspective, and the more beliefs or the more perspectives or the more attitudes, the bigger the vibrational kitchen from which you can make your pie. Just get so good at directing your Energy that the belief doesn't dominate.

Don't work harder, work smarter.  What can you do on your job, right now, to work smarter?  What you did yesterday to be smarter, doesn't count.  Things have changed since then and you have to relook at things every day.  You have new information; perhaps new tools, and new challenges and opportunities, so look around you right now and see what you can do better, faster, cheaper, and of course smarter.

What does it mean to be healthy? You may think that being healthy means that you are not sick, but being healthy is far more than that. If you are feel okay, or average, or nothing much at all, you are not healthy.

Be flexible, when you think of how you want to reach you goal.  If you set up rigid patterns of how everything should work on your way towards your goal, you will not be able to handle the inevitable set backs that you will encounter along the way.  Be flexible in the way you want to make it and keep the ultimate outcome in mind, rather than the short term.  Example:  Burns and Allen had Gracie delivering the punch lines and the show was a great hit.  When the show first started, George Burns did the punch lines and the show flopped, so they changed to George being the straight man and the rest is history.

Daily Teaching from The Power

Points of Power

  • Life is presenting every person and circumstance to you so you can choose what you love and what you don't love. When you react to anything, you are reacting with your feelings, and as you do, you are choosing it!
  • You can't change a negative situation with bad feelings. If you keep reacting negatively, your bad feelings will magnify and multiply the negativity.
  • If you're feeling fantastic, the force of your magnetic field creates a shield that no negativity can penetrate.
  • Changing the way you feel is easy compared to running around trying to change the circumstances of the outside world. Change your feelings and the outside circumstances will change!
  • The more you give love and feel good, the more magnetic your field becomes and the more it expands, drawing everything and everyone you love to you!

Love is the very essence of your being.  Your objective is to ask love within you to make it's presence known, to have an awareness of being so full of love that this is what you have to give away.
By doing just that, you'll attract more of what you're giving away.
                        ~ Dr. Wayne Dyer

Steps to Freedom

Change What Isn’t Working
If we don't change what isn't working in our lives, we will continually have the same day over and over again.

We have all had the experience of realizing that something in our lives is not working. This knowledge can come as a sudden realization or a nagging feeling of doubt that grows stronger, waking us up to the fact that something needs to change. Some people have a tendency to act rashly and make sweeping changes before even understanding what the problem is. Other people fear change, so they live with the uncomfortable awareness that something needs to shift but won't do anything about it. Between these two extreme responses lies a middle way that can help us powerfully and gracefully change what isn't working in our lives.

The first step is remembering that your life is made up of parts that belong to an interconnected whole. Changing one thing can change everything. Because of this, small changes often have a big effect. Sometimes much bigger changes are necessary, but the only way to know for sure is to take the time to really understand the problem. Examine your life as an entirety ~ your work, your relationships, where you live ~ and determine what specifically is not functioning the way you would like. Once you have figured out the problem, write it down on a piece of paper. For example, "I am not happy with my relationship" or "I don‚t like my apartment". The next step is to figure out the adjustment you would like to make and how you can go about making this change. If you are unhappy with your relationship because you spend too much or not enough time with your partner, you may want to discuss this problem with them and come up with a compromise. On the other hand, if you realize your relationship is not working to such a degree that it needs to end, begin working through that process. Writing down the truth can be a powerful catalyst for change.

The key to making changes that work is to accept the necessity of change as part of life. As we change, we may find it necessary to fine-tune our relationships, work, and living situations. Our lives are living, breathing entities that reflect our dynamic selves.

Notes from the Universe

Just as you are today, challenges and all, you're still the envy of the Universe.

I know,
    The Universe

**************************

With the vista of a new year still dawning, is it my imagination, or is someone out there forgetting that the "hows" are my domain? That when it comes to manifesting change, their real job is to focus upon the end result? And that simply doing what they can, with what they've got, from where they are, will always be enough to move heaven and earth?

I didn't think so.

    The Universe

*************************************************

At the heart of every condition is a vibrational pattern—a rather minor tweaking of vibrational patterning (sort of like the hub of a wheel) can affect tremendously out there on the peripheral of this big wheel… A little bit of tweaking on the emotion can make big differences in the way the physical manifestation occurs.

*********************

It should only be talked about if the talking will make you feel better. It is of no value, ever, to activate and talk about something that doesn't feel good, because it reactivates it in your vibration; it makes it another point of your point of attraction so you're less clear.
In other words, when you focus upon the problems of others, you diminish your ability to help them. People believe that you've got to focus upon the problem in order to find a solution. And we say, no solution ever comes forth - it's never inspired; you never recognize it, and you are never able to facilitate or achieve it - from your place of focusing on the problem. They are two entirely different vibrations. If you have someone who has many things going wrong and one thing going right, beat the drum of what's going right, and let that be your point of attraction. If you focus upon their problems, you achieve vibrational harmony with something other than the Source that gives you solution.
~ 'The Teachings of Abraham' by Esther and Jerry Hicks

*************************************************

Play the cards you have been dealt.  Don't try to change what you have been given up to this point; focus on using what you have now, where you are now, right now.  You can change your future, but you can't change your past.  You can learn from you past, and put this knowledge to good use in your future actions.  Learn to live with what you have been given and maximize the results you get from what you have, instead of using that time and energy feeling sorry for yourself.

****************************

Treat every day like a special day. Each day is in fact special, even though we may not think it is.  Every day gives us a new chance to work on our goals, a new chance to enjoy the progress we have made, a chance to work and a chance to play.  It is up to us to take this new day and make it as special as it deserves to be.  We can make it the same as any other day, or we can take the steps the make this day the best day of our lives.  Ask yourself what would make it your best day, and what you would have to do to make that happen, and then DO IT.

Daily Teaching from The Power

Points of Power

  • With every single person you come into contact, you are either giving love or you're not. And based on what you give, that is what you receive.
  • Give love to others through kindness, encouragement, support, gratitude, or any good feeling, and it comes back to you multiplied in every area of your life.
  • Look for the things you love in a relationship more than you notice negative things and it will appear as it something incredible has happened to the other person.
  • Trying to change another person, thinking you know what is best for another person, thinking you are right and another person is wrong, is not giving love!
  • Criticizing, blaming, complaining, nagging, or finding fault with another person is not giving love
  • You have to be happy to receive the happy versions of other people!
  • The force of love presents you with a whole array of Personal Emotional Trainers, disguised as everyday people, but they are all training you to choose love!
  • You can stick everything you love and want to you by looking for the things you love in other people, and saying yes to those qualities with all of your heart!
  • You can't talk about or hear negativity and have good feelings!

Present in the Progression
Letting Life Unfold

Present time can be hard, but life unfolds as it will and the universe will wait as we make our way into the unknown.

Our lives are guided by natural rhythms that are particular to each of us and cannot be altered by force of will alone. Life itself is a journey made up of processes and events that manifest before us only to be swept away when time marches on. Whether we envision ourselves creating a career, building a family, or developing the self, we instinctively know when the time has come for us to realize our dreams because all that is involved comes together harmoniously. When the time is right, the passage of destiny cannot be blocked. Yet as desperate as we are to touch these beautiful futures we have imagined, we cannot grow if we are not fully present in the evolutionary experience. The present can be challenging, uncomfortable, and tedious, but life unfolds as it will, and the universe will wait patiently as we make our way into the unknown.

The fate that awaits us is not dependent on our pace, which was preordained before we ever appeared in human guise. Therefore there is no reason to rush through life to reach those pinnacles of development associated with the paths we have chosen. Enjoying and fully experiencing the journey of life is as important as achieving goals and reaching milestones. There are lessons we can learn during those moments that seem immaterial or insignificant that we cannot learn at any other time. Appreciating these takes patience, however, because human beings tend to focus on the fulfillment of expectations rather than the simple joys of being.

Like many people, you have no doubt longed for a device that would give you the power to fast forward through certain periods of your existence. Yet haste is by its very nature vastly more stressful than serene fortitude. When you feel yourself growing impatient because the pace of your development is deceptively slow, remember that everything that will occur in your life will occur in its own time. Quelling your urge to rush will enable you to witness yourself learning, changing, and becoming stronger. There is so much to see and do in between the events and processes that we deem definitive. If you are patient enough to take pleasure in your existence's unfolding, the journey from one pinnacle to the next will seem to take no time at all.

FAITH (Intention) is the starting point of every spiritual path. It is the force that fulfills all of our needs, whether for money, relationships, spiritual awakening, or love. Intention generates all the activities in the universe. Everything that we can see and even the things we cannot are an expression of intention’s infinite organizing power. Like real seeds, intentions can’t grow if you hold on to them. Letting go is planting them in the depths of your consciousness. It is there that they get the nourishment and support to grow and develop. The Law of Intention and Desire lays out the steps for cultivating and fulfilling your intentions with effortless ease: Make a list of your goals and look at it before you start your meditation. You are releasing your intentions into the fertile ground of pure potentiality, and they will bloom when the season is right. You don’t want to dig up the seeds to see if they are growing, or get attached to the way that they come forth. Let the universe handle the details. Your focused intentions set the infinite organizing power of the universe in motion. Trust that infinite organizing power to orchestrate the complete fulfillment of your desires.

As the Earth Allows the Rain
Sitting with Feelings

Taking the time now to sit with your feelings and acknowledge them will save you much distress down the road.

It can take great courage to really sit with our feelings, allowing ourselves to surrender to their powerful energies. All too often we set our feelings aside, thinking we will deal with them later. If we don‚t deal with them, we end up storing them in our minds and bodies and this is when anxiety and other health issues can arise. Denying what our bodies want to feel can lead to trouble now or down the line, which is why being in the thick of our feelings, no matter how scary it seems, is really the best thing we can do for ourselves.

One of the reasons we tend to hide or push aside our feelings is that we live in a culture that has not traditionally supported emotional awareness. However, as the connection between mind and body--our emotions and our physical health-- becomes clearer, awareness of the importance of feeling our feelings has grown. There are many books, classes, workshops and retreats that can help us on our way to emotional intelligence. We can also trust in our own ability to process what comes up when it comes up. If sadness arises, we can notice its presence and welcome it, noting where in our bodies we feel it, and allowing ourselves to express it through tears or a quiet turning inward.

When we simply allow ourselves to fully feel our feelings as they come, we tend to let them go easily. This is all we are required to do; our feelings simply want to be felt. We often complicate the situation by applying mental energy in the form of analysis, when all we really need is to allow, as the earth allows the rain to fall upon it. As the rain falls, the earth responds in a multitude of ways, sometimes emptying out to form a great canyon, sometimes soaking it up to nourish an infinitude of plants. In the same way, the deeper purpose of our feelings is to transform the terrain of our inner world, sometimes creating space for more feelings to flow, sometimes providing sustenance for growth. All we need to do is allow the process by relaxing, opening, and receiving the bounty of our emotions.

Love is the solution and the answer to every relationship. You can never improve a relationship with negativity. Use the Creation Process for your relationships, and give love to receive. Use the Keys to Power for your relationships. Notice the things you love, make lists of the things you love, talk about the things you love, and turn away from the things you don't love. Imagine having the perfect relationship, imagine it at the highest level you can, and feel having it with all your heart. If you find it difficult to feel good about a relationship, then love everything else around you, and just stop noticing the negative things in the relationship!

No Wrong Response
Experiences Shape Your Reactions

There is no such thing as a right or wrong response to any given situation as we all come to it with our own experience.

Our view of the universe is largely determined by our experiences. It is when we are caught off guard by the spontaneity of existence that we are most apt to respond authentically, even when our feelings do not correspond with those of the multitude. Events that arouse strong emotions with us or are surprising in nature can be disquieting, for it often is in their aftermath that we discover how profoundly our histories have shaped us. The differences that divide us from our peers are highlighted in our reactions when these diverge from the mainstream, and this can be highly upsetting because it forces us to confront the uniqueness of our lives.

When our response to unexpected news or startling ideas is not the same as that of the people around us, we may feel driven by a desire to dismiss our feelings as irrational or incorrect. But reactions themselves are neither right, nor wrong. The forces that sculpted the patterns that to a large extent dictate our development are not the same forces that shaped the development of our relatives, friends, colleagues, or neighbors. There is no reason to believe that one person's reaction to a particular event is somehow more valid than another's. How we respond to the constant changes taking place in the world around us is a product of our history, a testament to our individuality, and a part of the healing process that allows us to address key elements of our past in a context we can grasp in the present.

Life's pivotal events can provide you with a way to define yourself as a unique and matchless being, but you must put aside the judgments that might otherwise prevent you from gaining insight into your distinct mode of interpreting the world. Try to internalize your feelings without categorizing or evaluating them. When you feel unsure of the legitimacy of your reactions, remember that cultural, sociological, spiritual, and familial differences can cause two people to interpret a single event in widely dissimilar ways. Examining your responses outside of the context provided by others can show you that your emotional complexity is something to be valued, for it has made you who you are today.

Begetting Change
Same Choices, Same Results

A change in perspective, behavior, or response can do so much more to help us move past issues left unresolved.

Repeated bouts of adversity are an unavoidable aspect of human existence. We battle against our inner struggles or outer world forces, and in many cases, we emerge on the opposite side of struggle stronger and better equipped to cope with the challenges yet to come. However, we can occasionally encounter trials that seem utterly hopeless. We strike at them with all of our creativity and perseverance, hoping desperately to bring about change, only to meet with the same results as always. Our first instinct in such situations is often to push harder against the seemingly immovable obstruction before us, assuming that this time we will be met with a different outcome. But staying power and stamina net us little when the same choices consistently garner the same results. A change in perspective, behavior, or response can do so much more to help us move past points where no amount of effort seems sufficient to overcome the difficulties before us.

Whether our intention is to change ourselves or some element of the world around us, we cannot simply wish for transformation or hope that our lives will be altered through circumstance. If our patterns of thought and behavior remain unchanged, our lives will continue to unfold much as they have previously. Patterns in which fruitless efforts prevail can be overcome with self examination and courage. It is our bravery that allows us to question the choices we have made thus far and to channel our effort into innovation. Asking questions and making small adjustments to your thought processes and behaviors will help you discover what works, so you can leave that which does not work behind you. To break free from those unconscious patterns that have long held sway over your actions and reactions, you will likely have to challenge your assumptions on a most basic level. You must accept once and for all that your beliefs with regard to cause and effect may no longer be in accordance with your needs.

Stagnation is often a sign that great changes are on the horizon. Courting the change you wish to see in yourself and in the world around you is a matter of acknowledging that only change begets change. The results you so ardently want to realize are well within the realm of possibility, and you need only step away from the well-worn circular path to explore the untried paths that lie beyond it.
                        ~ Daily Om

We enter relationships looking for love, expecting someone to love us or accept us lovingly. This makes perfectly good sense if you consider that we are each born to express and receive love. Notes from the Universe

When you focus upon anything at all, it's like a call goes out to every corner of the Universe, summoning ideas, strength, courage, insight, resources, and whatever else is needed to complete the laser beam of your concentration. If it's an answer you need, it will be forthcoming. If it's a choice you have to make, your options are calculated and recalculated under each scenario. If circumstances need to be arranged then every soul on the planet is consulted. And if it's help you need... we're already there.

Lighten up.  Life should be fun.  Many of us forget that there is more to life than work and worry. Who you are and what you are doing right now, doesn't mean you have to be that way forever.  If you put a label on yourself, make sure it can be peeled off and replaced with a better one. Rethink what image you have of yourself and then begin to create a new image of yourself as you want to be and begin to work towards it.

Daily Teaching from The Power

On the other hand, if you negatively affect another person so much that the person goes on to negatively affect someone else, then the negativity will return to you in full. You will receive it back in the form of negative circumstances affecting money, your career, your health, or your relationships. Whatever you give to another, you give yourself.

"When you are distressed by anything external, the pain is not due to the thing itself, but to your estimate of it; and this you have the power to revoke at any moment."

The Soundless Center

Silence of the Heart
It takes a sensitive ear to tune in to the silence of the heart, but it is there in each one of us.

We spend a lot of time attempting to put the feelings in our hearts into words, to communicate to others our passions, our emotions, and our love. Often we are so busy trying to translate our hearts' roar into language that we miss the most profound experience the heart has to offer, which is silence. Every poem arises from this silence and returns to it. When all the songs have been sung, the soliloquies delivered, the emotions expressed, silence is what remains. As each wave of feeling rises and falls back into the silence, we have an opportunity to connect with the vast, open, powerfully healing wisdom at the soundless center of our hearts.

Our hearts may seem noisy and tumultuous so much of the time that we do not even associate them with silence. It takes a sensitive ear to tune in to the silence of the heart, but it is there in each one of us, so close and so large that we do not even notice it. We can begin to become aware of it in the same way we become aware of the negative space in a still life, the background of a photograph, or the open sky that contains the sun, clouds, moon, and stars. We are accustomed to tuning in to objects and sounds that are one-pointed, solid, and three-dimensional. Seeing and hearing the apparently empty space that contains these sounds and objects takes a little practice.

We can bring our awareness into our hearts by simply breathing into the general area of our heart. The first thing we may notice is feelings like joy or sadness and physical sensations like tightness or tenderness. We acknowledge these as we continue to breathe and focus, listening attentively. We surround these feelings and sensations with breath and recognize that they are contained and held in an immeasurable substance like water or air, intangible, ineffable, but utterly real. This is the silence of the heart, and the more we listen for it, return to it, and accept it, the more we bathe and purify ourselves in the soundless center of our being.

The way of love is not
A subtle argument.

The door there
Is devastation.

Birds make great sky-circles
Of their freedom. How do they learn that?

They fall, and falling,
They're given wings.

If you're trying to achieve, there will be roadblocks. I've had them; everybody has had them. But obstacles dont' have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.

To Create is to Destroy

Life is about getting up out of your chair and doing something. It is about doing nothing. Making a mess. Moving your hand and your body. Leaving a mark. It is about Doing. Action. Finishing. Experimenting. Trying something. Immersing. It is about absurdity.  A creation. Evidence that you exist. Using materials. Destruction. It is about fun. Doing the opposite. Breaking the rules. It is about ideas. Getting dirty. Making mistakes. I'm going to ask you to make a mark and it's going to be messy. Don't worry about that. That's the point.

A.L.I.V.E. - Awakened Love Illuminates Vision Everywhere

Be alive! You are the living, breathing miracle of life. Don't take it for granted. Awaken love and rise above any petty game. Let love and harmony be your aim. Your life is just enough. You don't need a lot of stuff. Accept that life is perfectly as it is. And it always has the fizz to put sparkle in your life. May your awakened love mirror a vision to all that you see. When we can love ourselves, we can set everything free. Open your heart and do your part. This is your day and know that your eternity is just a realization a way. Let go and know.

A Note from the Universe

The trick to blending work and play, lies not in what you do, but in how you view what you do.

See work as play and see play as important - super, very.

Super, very important -
    The Universe

The Universe does not know if the vibration you are offering is because of what you are imagining, or because of what you are observing. In either case, it is responding. Where emotion comes in is that emotion is your guidance or your response to your vibration. Your emotion does not create. Emotion is your indicator of what you are already creating. As you think, you vibrate. And it is your vibrational offering that equals your point of attraction. So it's always a match. What you are thinking and what is coming back to you is always a vibrational match. The emotion (your Guidance System) is telling you what's coming.

Never make a promise you can't keep.  Be committed to your promises in order to develop high self-esteem and have others trust you.  Promises mean much more than most people think. You listen to yourself and you evaluate yourself much more than you realize, and if you let other people down, you let yourself down more.  In your heart, you know your track record and that can help you or it can hold you back.  Keep your promises, as much for yourself, as for the person you made the promise to.

Daily Teaching from The Power

When you give love to another person, if your love affects the other person so positively that they then give love to someone else, then no matter how many people are positively affected, no matter how far your love travels, all that love comes back to you. Not only do you receive back the love you gave to the original person, you receive all the love back from everyone who was affected! And the love returns to you dressed as positive circumstances, positive people, and positive events in your life.
