It's not so much about the meaning of it is about the feeling of being alive.

The world is a much more beautiful and incredible place than you think, and each of us has a great deal of power to make it more so.
                        ~ Olie Osterkamp

Many people die with their music still in them. Why is this so? Too often it is because they are always getting ready to live. Before they know it, time runs out.
                        ~ Oliver Wendell Holmes

Most dreams are also part reality (otherwise we wouldn't believe them), and reality happens to be a condition that gives you plenty of chances through your life to rise to—no, soar through—the occasion.
                        ~ Leigh Newman

‎There is no normal life that is free of pain.
It is the very wrestling with our problems
that can be the impetus for our growth.
                        ~ Fred Rogers

If we can just let go and trust that things will work out they way they're supposed to, without trying to control the outcome, then we can begin to enjoy the moment...
                        ~ Goldie Hawn

Generosity is also an act of freedom, a casting off of the constraints of prudence and self-interest.
                        ~ Marilynne Robinson

I have found that when I do doubt myself I'm concentrating on what other people are thinking of me rather than what I think of myself. Although, I think it's really important how other people perceive me and what they think of me, I don't think it's anywhere near as important as what I think of myself.
                        ~ Adele

Daily Motivators by Ralph Marston

For a reason

What happens, happens for a reason. Watch, listen, feel, experience, learn and grow.

What may seem to be a coincidence is actually a consequence. What may appear to be a random occurrence is actually a direct result of something.

Life’s events and situations are always telling you something of value. Pay attention and, firmly grounded in your purpose, hear what life has to say.

By understanding where consequences come from, you can learn to choose the ones you desire. By focusing carefully on life’s various causes and effects, you can create the specific outcomes you wish to experience.

When things are not going your way, it can be easy and tempting to blame it on random bad luck. Yet it is far more empowering to take full responsibility for your situation, because that puts you on a path to change it for the better.

For every result, there is a cause. Take positive, purposeful control of the causes, and get the results you truly desire.

The way you choose

You have a purpose, so choose it. You have control, so use it.

What happens to you isn’t the end of the story. What really makes a difference is what you do with it.

Excuses and complaints give you comfort, but little else. Positive intention, commitment, action, discipline and persistence are what create a life of great fulfillment.

You are not your past, you are not your job title, you are not your bank balance or the car you drive or the neighborhood where you live. You are who you choose to be, and the way you choose to act, in this new moment.

The possibilities are limited only by your imagination, so imagine from your deepest, driving purpose. Feel the passion as it wells up within you, and let it energize every part of your life.

Live by choice, not by chance. This irreplaceable moment is now here, so act to make its great value uniquely yours.

The Power of Disengagement
Playing Mind Games

Life should not be lived through a series of mind games, but from truth and looking deep within.
For better or worse, many people have been raised to believe that communicating in an honest and open way will not get them what they want. They have learned, instead, to play mind games or go on power trips in the service of their ego‚s agenda. People stuck in this outmoded and inefficient style of communication can be trying at best and downright destructive at worst. We may get caught up in thinking we have to play the same games in order to defend ourselves, but that will only lead us deeper into confusion and conflict. The best way to handle people like this is to be clear and honest with them

As with all relationships and situations in our lives, we must look within for both the source of our difficulties and the solution. Reacting to the situation by getting upset will only entrench us more deeply in the undesirable relationship. Only by disengaging, becoming still, and going within can we begin to see what has hooked us into the mess in the first place. We will most likely find unprocessed emotions that we can finally fully feel and release into the stillness we find in meditation. The more we are able to do this, the less we will be bothered by the other person‚s dramas and the more we will be free to respond in a new way. In the light of our new awareness, the situation will untangle itself and we will slowly break free.

Whenever people come into our lives, they have come for a reason, to show us something about ourselves that we have not been able to see. When unhealthy people try to hook us into their patterns with mind games and power trips, we can remind ourselves that we have something to learn here and that a part of us is calling out for healing. This takes the focus off the troubling individual and puts it back on us, giving us the opportunity to change the situation from the inside out.
A Matter of Priorities
Letting Go of the Little Stuff

When we stop worrying about unimportant matters, we can devote so much more of ourselves to what is truly important.
We experience numerous disappointments each and every day. Our expectations go unmet, our plans are blocked by circumstance, our wishes go unfulfilled, and we discover that our lives are subject to a myriad of forces beyond our conscious control. In some cases, our response is powerful because we must invest ourselves and our resources to overcome genuine hardship. In others, our reactions are far more passionate than our circumstances likely warrant. The tension that permeates our bodies and minds when we are late for an event, interrupted at work, or sitting in traffic is not inappropriate, but it can interfere with our well-being in profound ways. When we stop worrying about relatively unimportant matters, we can be at peace and devote so much more of ourselves to what is truly important.

The small frustrations and irritations wield such power over us because they rob us of the illusion of control. But every problem is a potential teacher ~ a confusing situation is an opportunity to practice mindfulness, and difficult people provide us with opportunities to display compassion. There is a natural human tendency to invest copious amounts of emotional energy in minor dilemmas and frustrations in order to avoid confronting those more complex issues that are largely outside the realm of our control. The intensity of our response provides us with a temporary sense of personal power that helps us cope with challenges that might otherwise overwhelm us. But it is only when we let the little stuff go that we discover that the big stuff is not really so devastating after all.

In the stress of a singularly tense incident, differentiating between an inconsequential annoyance and a legitimate challenge can seem a monumental task. Ask yourself whether the emotions you are feeling will be as vivid in a year, a day, or even an hour. As focused as you are on this moment in time, your reward for letting go of your emotional investment may be the very happiness and harmony of being whose loss you are lamenting. Needless aggravation is seldom worth the cost it exacts. You cannot distance yourself from life's inconsistencies, irritations, and upheavals, but you can relinquish your desire for perfect order and gain peace of mind in the process.

Notes from the Universe

Perhaps the greatest of all illusions is that life could somehow be better than it already is.

You've got it made -
    The Universe

Always trust your dreams.

They've chosen you, as much as you've chosen them.

    The Universe

If you could take a daily pill that would profoundly speed-up the manifestation of all your dreams, would you take it without fail?

I thought so.

What if it was a big, ugly pill that took 5 minutes to dissolve on your tongue, and it tasted like medicine. Would you still do it?

Yes, all of your dreams...

Thought so.

But what if during those 5 minutes each day you couldn't watch TV, or talk with friends, or distract yourself in any way from your chore?

Wow, you must really want a fabulous thriving dream, and all those other awesome life changes!

OK, what if you could skip the pill bit entirely, but instead you had to set aside 5 minutes a day to visualize, in a dark and quiet room, seeing your life unfold as if all your dreams were coming true, and for good measure you had to say or do something, each day, that implied the same?

No, you can't go back to the pill idea.

    The Universe

Ever notice how those who give 100% just to "get by" in life, usually do? How those who are willing to do just about anything to work on their relationships, usually do? And how those who seem to make it their life's mission to add more years to theirs, often succeed?

Thought so.

Then you must wonder, too, why they don't just give 100% to living in abundance, do just about anything to celebrate their relationships, and make it their mission to add more life to their years... huh?

Just another one of life's amazing mysteries, I guess -
    The Universe

Sometimes, in hindsight, it may seem that your prior kindnesses were for naught, and that in the end, they were too high a price to pay for the pains you've endured.

That is, of course, until you get a little further into the future, when the pendulum has been allowed its full swing, and all the seeds you've sown have begun blooming in more gardens than you ever knew existed.

    The Universe

The Teachings of Abraham by Esther and Jerry Hicks

You are magnificent beings, in the perfect place at the perfect time, unfolding perfectly, never getting it done, and never getting it wrong. Be more playful about all of it. "Today, no matter where I'm going, no matter what I am doing, and no matter who I'm doing it with — it is my dominant intent to look for that which I'm wanting to see. I'm wanting to find thoughts and words and actions that feel good while I'm finding them. For in doing so, I am, in the moment, practicing the art of allowing all that I've been telling the Universe I'm wanting, for all of the days of my existence."

There is a big mix out there, and there's lots of different things going on, and there is not one way that was intended to be the right way. Just like there's not one color or one flower or one vegetable or one fingerprint. There is not one that is to be the right one over all others. The variety is what fosters the creativity. And so you say, "Okay, I accept that there's lots of variety, but I don't like to eat cucumbers." Don't eat cucumbers. But don't ask them to be eliminated and don't condemn those who eat them. Don't stand on corners waving signs trying to outlaw the things that you don't like. Don't ruin your life by pushing against. Instead, say, "I choose this instead. This does please me.

The thought that you think, you think, which attracts to it; so you think it some more, which attracts to it; so you think it some more. In other words, when you have an expectation, you've got a dominant thought going on, and Law of Attraction is going to deliver that to you again, and again and again. And you say "The reason that I believe this, is because it is true." And we say, the reason that you believe it, is because you've practiced the thought. All that a belief is, is a thought that you keep practicing.

One Minute Motivators by Edward W. Smith

Quit it.  Stop it right now.  You are doing something in your life that is holding back your potential and/or damaging you in some way.  It might be physical or it may be mental, but chances are there is something you are doing, that you would be better off if you didn't do it.  Find out what it is, admit it and find a way to reduce or eliminate it.  Your life will move ahead faster and you will probably feel better in the long run, if you stop doing something that is holding you back.

Smile.  It makes people treat you better, and you feel better.  People will be more likely to help you if you look approachable and pleasant.  Also acting happy and smiling, makes your body and mind follow suit and you actually will become happy.  So smile and the world will smile back.

Moderation is the key.  Don't try to do too much of whatever you are trying to do, or you will burn out.  Shooting too low won't get you anywhere and shooting too high will hurt you as well. Sometimes aiming too high will cause our subconscious mind to turn off on the goal, or we may give up before we start, because we feel overwhelmed. Set goals that are a stretch, but yet attainable and you will optimize your progress.

Persistence beats brains any day. Nothing is more important than persistence. The best idea in the world is useless unless someone pursues it. We all know examples of things and people that weren't the best, but made it, due to persistence. Keep asking yourself what you can do next to move your project ahead and then do it. Persist, persist, succeed, and succeed.

Daily Teaching from The Power

The Power of your Heart

"In some sense man is a microcosm of the universe; therefore what man is, is a clue to the universe."
                        ~ David Bohm (1917-1992)
                        Quantum Physicist

The inside of your body is an exact map of our solar system and the universe. Your heart is the sun and the center of your body system. Your organs are the planets, and just as the planets depend on the sun to remain in balance and harmony, so do all the organs in your body depend on your heart to remain in balance and harmony.

Scientists at the Institute of HeartMath in California have shown that feeling love, gratitude, and appreciation in your heart boosts your immune system; increases vital chemical production; increases physical vitality and vigor; reduces burnout; and improves glucose regulation in diabetics. Feelings of love also create a higher degree of harmony in the rhythm of your heart. HeartMath has shown that the magnetic field of the heart is 5,000 times more powerful than the magnetic field of the brain, and reaches out several feet from our body.

Other scientists are revolutionizing our understanding of the affect of love on our health, through experiments with water. What does water have to do with health? Your body is made up of 70 percent water! The inside of your head is 80 percent water!

Researchers in Japan, Russia, Europe, and the United States have discovered that when water is exposed to positive words and feelings such as love and gratitude, the energy level of the water not only increases, but the structure of the water changes, making it perfectly harmonious. The higher the positive feeling, the more beautiful and harmonious the water becomes. When water is exposed to negative emotions, such as hate, the energy level of the water decreases, and chaotic changes occur, negatively affecting the structure of the water.

If human emotions can change the structure of water, can you imagine what your feelings are doing to the health of your body? Your cells are made of mostly water! The center of every cell is water, and each cell is completely surrounded by a layer of water.

Can you imagine the impact of love and gratitude on your body? Can you imagine the power of love and gratitude to restore health? When you feel love, your love affects the water of the 100 trillion cells in your body!
