Love takes off masks that we fear we cannot live without and know we cannot live within.

‎You never know who might be using your love and light to grow. So keep sharing your love and never stop shining your light.

Smile at those who often begrudge or hurt you, show them what possibly is missing in their life and what they cannot take away from you.
                        ~ Dodinsky

You are awareness. Awareness is another name for you. Since you are awareness there is no need to attain or cultivate it. All that you have to do is to give up being aware of other things, that is of the not-Self. If one gives up being aware of them then pure awareness alone remains, and that is the Self.
                        ~ Ramana Maharshi

I AM PATIENT

Today I am patient with myself and with everyone else, for I know that time exists only to facilitate healing and growing. I know the difference between patience and procrastination, understanding that patience comes from Spirit’s love, while procrastination comes from Ego’s fear. Today I move through all of my functions and activities effortlessly, with patience and love. Today I am patient.

ASSIGNMENT FOR TODAY
Thank someone who truly deserves thanking. Come from your heart. How does it feel?

Affirmation: Peace is forever.
Remember to keep your word today.

A Note from the Universe

Most people quickly forget car types, brand names, and whether or not you could throw a Frisbee, but forever remember the broadly smiling, animal talking, tree hugging eccentrics they befriended.

Go for the latter.

Putting the "U" in Unforgettable,
    The Universe

Most people don't think that new-born children could be the Creator of their own reality because they are not even talking yet. But the Universe is not responding to your language, anyway. The Universe is responding to your vibration—and your vibration is about the way you feel.

Live out loud!  Live life to it's fullest.  Don't just laugh out loud, but cry out loud as well.  Take all those wonderful feelings you have and let them out, they are the key to making your dreams come true.  You  need to know your feelings, so they can lead you down the path you were meant to follow.  Max it all out when it comes to living your life, meet your end, exhausted, but happy with the knowledge you lived your life to the fullest.

Rise Above the Temptation to Quit

“A person without special gifts, just an I won’t quit! attitude, will succeed.”

Everyone wants to be a success in life. But, unless you make a commitment to never quit no matter what, it may never happen.

The one thing that makes a person successful is persistence. It’s not talent, not ability, nor education. Just plain old persistence!

Life will always present you with opportunities to succeed, as well as reasons to quit. Rise above the temptation to quit and find an incentive not to give in.

Today, make an I’ll never quit! commitment to yourself. Because you can do anything if you try.

Today’s Affirmation: I have made a commitment to myself to never quit.

Daily Teaching from The Power

Points of Power

  • Use physical money as your cue to remember to feel good about plenty of money. Imagine the front of each bill as the positive side, which represents plenty of money. Each time you handle money, deliberately flip the bill so the front is facing you.
  • If you feel really good about success, no matter whose success it is, you stick success to you!
  • Give in equal value to the money you receive through profits or your salary. If you give more value than the money you're receiving, your business and career will take off.
  • Money is only a tool for you to experience the things you love in life. The attractive force of love has unlimited ways for you to receive what you want, and only one of those ways involves money.
  • Imagine being with what you love, doing what you love, and having the things you love, because you will feel far more love than you will if you only think about money.
  • The beauty of life is that when you put love first, all the money you need to live a full life comes to you.

Wednesday nuggets!!

You've got to follow your passion. You've got to figure out what it is you love-who you really are. And have the courage to do that. I believe that the only courage anybody ever needs is the courage to follow your own dreams.
                        ~ Oprah Winfrey

‎Stick to the truth. Don't baby people. People have to grow up. When they grow up, they'll wake up, and when they wake up, they'll become aware, and when they become aware they will act, and when they act they will transform the world.
                        ~ Andrew D. Basiago

**********************************

The quality of your consciousness is the single most influential thing about you. It's the source of the primary impact you make on other human beings. It changes every situation you interact with, sometimes subtly and other times dramatically. So here's my first question; how would you characterize the quality of your consciousness? The answer is complicated of course. But there must be eight to ten words that capture the essence of the vibes you beam out wherever you go. Now comes my second question; are you satisfied with the way you contribute to life on earth with the quality of your consciousness? It's an excellent time to contemplate these primal matters.                          ~ Rob Brezsny

**********************************

You cannot change the circumstances, the seasons, or the wind, but you can change yourself. That is something you (always) have.
                        ~ Jim Rohn

**********************************

The most powerful thing I can do to change the world, is to change my own beliefs about the nature of life, people, reality, to something more positive...and begin to act accordingly.
                        ~ Christina Charalambous

A Note from the Universe

Lilac pandas, dancing flowers, sugar mountains, and rainbow houses, don't even hint at the splendor of where you came from. But then, your friends back "home" can't imagine crimson sunrises, falling snow in moonlight, twirling dolphins, wagging tails, purring hearts, ocean mists, or bare feet in grass.

You've so impressed the Joneses.

Another day in paradise,
    The Universe

**********************************

These beings, that are acting out in those ways that you find so awful, are tormented and suffering in ways that you will not understand. Their horrible acts are extensions of that pain. We also have to say to you—no one who is not a vibrational match to that could be their victim.
                        ~ Abraham

**********************************

You need training, in addition to ability, in order to be the best.  Being the best doesn't just happen; you have to train for it.  You have to bring knowledge into it, along with your ability. You need to find teachers, coaches, etc, to help you learn what you need to know to make it to the top. Learn from your boss, your teacher, your peers, even people in lower jobs, or grades from you, surf the net, go to the library, whatever it takes, but add knowledge to your ability, and then give it all you have. They aren't kidding when they say what you don't know can hurt you. Be proof that what you do know can help you.
                        ~ Edward W. Smith

Achieve Success in Spite of Naysayers

“Satisfaction is sweet when you succeed in spite of discouraging words.”

Do you have someone in your life that’s knocking down your dreams? Someone who’s trying to make you quit? If so, do the opposite of what they are saying. Let their discouraging words motivate you to succeed.

Yes, it’s hard at first, especially if you’ve been listening to and giving in to those who say you can’t do it. Decide, right now, not to listen anymore. Try your hardest to block out the discouragement and forge ahead.

Just imagine how good you will feel when you accomplish what you want to do. There is no sweeter success than reaching a goal when others told you, “No!”

Today’s Affirmation: The discouragement from others motivates me to achieve my goals.

Daily Teaching from The Power

Points of Power
  • It's the attractive force of love that moves all the money in the world, and whoever is giving love by feeling good is a magnet for money.
  • You can tell how you feel about money, because if you don't have all you need, then you don't feel good about money.
  • Love is the attracting force that brings money, and love is also the power that makes money stick!
  • When you pay your bills, find a way, any way, to  make yourself feel good. Imagine your bills are checks you're receiving. Or use gratitude and give thanks to the company who sent you the bill.
  • When some money comes into your hands, no matter how small it is, be grateful! Remember, gratitude is the great multiplier.
  • Feel love when you pay for anything instead of feeling bad because you have less money. The difference between the two is the difference between having plenty of money, and struggling with money for the rest of your life.

Let yourself submerge in the Love that Life has to offer you, it is all about opening our hearts and loving ourselves where we can find the beauty of life...and by being positive. Always look for the bright side of everything, even the worst of problems have to end one way or another, it is a Universal law. It also takes changing our way of thinking, looking for the silver lining in the clouds, or for the rainbow after the storm, or for the light at the end of the tunnel. Love will always get you out of your darkest moments, Love will lend you a hand to get you up and shining again. Let yourself feel your own Love; You are more than what you imagine, You are Everything you are looking for outside of You. You are an Amazingly Gorgeous Shiny Soul, you are Love.

What do you really want in your life? I mean REALLY want? Focus on that with the inner knowing that you can do it, you have what it takes, you are worthy. Lasting Relationships – What You MUST Have

“Resilience is the key to survival.”

If you and your partner have a history of power struggles, nasty arguments and broken trust, you have little to draw on when times are hard.

On the other hand, if you and your partner have a history of trust, partnership, respect, friendship and kindness, you have built up enough resilience and strength to endure the bad times. Vital relationships fill our days with humor, caring and good conversation.

Now is a great time to look at your relationships. Do you have a cushion of resilience to fall back on? If not, it’s never too late to start building one.

"If you require love, try to realize that the only way to get love is by giving it, that the more you give the more you will get, and the only way you can give it is the fill yourself up with it, until you become a magnet."

You are meant to have the money you need to live a full life. You are not meant to be suffering from a lack of money, because suffering adds negativity to the world. The beauty of life is that when you put love first, all the money you need to live a full life comes to you.

12 Things Happy People Do Differently...plus alittle something extra :-)

I’d always believed that a life of quality, enjoyment, and wisdom were my human birthright and would be automatically bestowed upon me as time passed.  I never suspected that I would have to learn how to live - that there were specific disciplines and ways of seeing the world I had to master before I could awaken to a simple, happy, uncomplicated life.
                        ~ Dan Millman

Studies conducted by positivity psychologist Sonja Lyubomirsky point to 12 things happy people do differently to increase their levels of happiness.  These are things that we can start doing today to feel the effects of more happiness in our lives.

I want to honor and discuss each of these 12 points, because no matter what part of life’s path we’re currently traveling on, these ‘happiness habits’ will always be applicable.
  1. Express gratitude. – When you appreciate what you have, what you have appreciates in value.  Kinda cool right?  So basically, being grateful for the goodness that is already evident in your life will bring you a deeper sense of happiness.  And that’s without having to go out and buy anything.  It makes sense.  We’re gonna have a hard time ever being happy if we aren’t thankful for what we already have.
  2. Cultivate optimism. – Winners have the ability to manufacture their own optimism.  No matter what the situation, the successful diva is the chick who will always find a way to put an optimistic spin on it.  She knows failure only as an opportunity to grow and learn a new lesson from life.  People who think optimistically see the world as a place packed with endless opportunities, especially in trying times.
  3. Avoid over-thinking and social comparison. – Comparing yourself to someone else can be poisonous.  If we’re somehow ‘better’ than the person that we’re comparing ourselves to, it gives us an unhealthy sense of superiority.  Our ego inflates – KABOOM – our inner Kanye West comes out!  If we’re ‘worse’ than the person that we’re comparing ourselves to, we usually discredit the hard work that we’ve done and dismiss all the progress that we’ve made.  What I’ve found is that the majority of the time this type of social comparison doesn’t stem from a healthy place.  If you feel called to compare yourself to something, compare yourself to an older version of yourself.
  4. Practice acts of kindness. – Performing an act of kindness releases serotonin in your brain.  (Serotonin is a substance that has TREMENDOUS health benefits, including making us feel more blissful.)  Selflessly helping someone is a super powerful way to feel good inside.  What’s even cooler about this kindness kick is that not only will you feel better, but so will people watching the act of kindness.  How extraordinary is that?  Bystanders will be blessed with a release of serotonin just by watching what’s going on.  A side note is that the job of most anti-depressants is to release more serotonin.  Move over Pfizer, kindness is kicking ass and taking names.
  5. Nurture social relationships. – The happiest people on the planet are the ones who have deep, meaningful relationships.  Did you know studies show that people’s mortality rates are DOUBLED when they’re lonely?  WHOA!  There’s a warm fuzzy feeling that comes from having an active circle of good friends who you can share your experiences with.  We feel connected and a part of something more meaningful than our lonesome existence.
  6. Develop strategies for coping. – How you respond to the ‘craptastic’ moments is what shapes your character.  Sometimes crap happens – it’s inevitable.  Forrest Gump knows the deal.  It can be hard to come up with creative solutions in the moment when manure is making its way up toward the fan.  It helps to have healthy strategies for coping pre-rehearsed, on-call, and in your arsenal at your disposal.
  7. Learn to forgive. – Harboring feelings of hatred is horrible for your well-being.  You see, your mind doesn’t know the difference between past and present emotion.  When you ‘hate’ someone, and you’re continuously thinking about it, those negative emotions are eating away at your immune system.  You put yourself in a state of suckerism (technical term) and it stays with you throughout your day.
  8. Increase flow experiences. – Flow is a state in which it feels like time stands still.  It’s when you’re so focused on what you’re doing that you become one with the task.  Action and awareness are merged.  You’re not hungry, sleepy, or emotional.  You’re just completely engaged in the activity that you’re doing.  Nothing is distracting you or competing for your focus.
  9. Savor life’s joys. – Deep happiness cannot exist without slowing down to enjoy the joy.  It’s easy in a world of wild stimuli and omnipresent movement to forget to embrace life’s enjoyable experiences.  When we neglect to appreciate, we rob the moment of its magic.  It’s the simple things in life that can be the most rewarding if we remember to fully experience them.
  10. Commit to your goals. – Being wholeheartedly dedicated to doing something comes fully-equipped with an ineffable force.  Magical things start happening when we commit ourselves to doing whatever it takes to get somewhere.  When you’re fully committed to doing something, you have no choice but to do that thing.  Counter-intuitively, having no option – where you can’t change your mind – subconsciously makes humans happier because they know part of their purpose.
  11. Practice spirituality. – When we practice spirituality or religion, we recognize that life is bigger than us.  We surrender the silly idea that we are the mightiest thing ever.  It enables us to connect to the source of all creation and embrace a connectedness with everything that exists.  Some of the most accomplished people I know feel that they’re here doing work they’re “called to do.”
  12. Take care of your body. – Taking care of your body is crucial to being the happiest person you can be.  If you don’t have your physical energy in good shape, then your mental energy (your focus), your emotional energy (your feelings), and your spiritual energy (your purpose) will all be negatively affected.  Did you know that studies conducted on people who were clinically depressed showed that consistent exercise raises happiness levels just as much as Zoloft?  Not only that, but here’s the double whammy… Six months later, the people who participated in exercise were less likely to relapse because they had a higher sense of self-accomplishment and self-worth.       ~ Jacob Sokol

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.

Don't Take Anything Personally

Nothing others do is because of you.
What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream.
When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won't be the victim of needless suffering.

"No one can escape from illusions unless he looks at them, for not looking is the way they are protected."

And I should also note that it doesn’t matter if the negative emotion is the result of being right about something on the level of form and being accurate about the details of your grievances; being right does not bring anybody any lasting peace, only instant gratification at best, while keeping the conflict in the mind unresolved.
                        ~ Tillman White

There is beauty in truth, even if it's painful. Those who lie, twist life so that it looks tasty to the lazy, brilliant to the ignorant, and powerful to the weak. But lies only strengthen our defects. They don't teach anything, help anything, fix anything or cure anything. Nor do they develop one's character, one's mine, one's heart or one's soul.

A Note from the Universe

If you only knew how normal you were when you thought you were weird.

How strong you were when you thought you were weak.

And how ready you were when you thought you weren't.

You'd think again, oh Great One Revered by All in the Unseen -

**************************************

If you don't meet resistance with resistance, it dissipates dramatically. It just softens. Try it! Next time somebody says to you, "I'm right, and you're wrong," say, "Pfftt, you're right. You are right. You're right." And mean it. In other words, don't mock them. Don't be sarcastic. "You're right." And then watch how, all of a sudden, their legs almost go right out from under them. They don't have the energy to blast you, because you just took the fuel away from the fire.
~ 'The Teachings of Abraham' by Esther and Jerry Hicks

**************************************

Is your brain frozen? Are you having trouble coming up with new ideas?  Do you have brain constipation?  Is your mind moving slowly when it comes to creativity?  You can solve all of that by just eliminating two sentences from your life.  Eliminate: What will people say?  And, what will people think?  Worrying about what other people will think or say stops your creative juices from working and slows down your thought process.  Throw these ideas out of your head and just think what you want to think, without worrying about other people for the time being.  You can censor your thoughts later, but you have to let things flow first, so you can get all the good stuff out. So to get your thoughts flowing, eliminate worrying about what other people will say or think.

Heal Past Hurts

“You were born with the capacity to believe.”

You were born with a capacity for great courage, for trust in your surroundings and for faith in yourself. But something may have happened along the way that changed this positive capacity.

If you were criticized at an early age and denied encouragement by those you trusted you could learn to believe that something was wrong with you. Over time, such beliefs may appear as the absolute truth – a definition of your identity.

Guess what? It’s simply not true! You are perfect and it’s time to act that way. As hard as it may be to regain your self-esteem, you can forget and forgive what happened when you were young. You can regain the courage, trust and faith that are your birthright, by recognizing that, although youthful disillusionment can’t be changed, it can be overcome.

Love Rules

There is one rule with money: you can never put money ahead of love. If you do, you violate love's law of attraction, and you will suffer the consequences. Love must be the ruling force in your life. Nothing can ever be put above love. Money is a tool for you to use, and you bring it to yourself through love, but if you put money ahead of love in your life, it will cause you to receive a whole bunch of negative things. You can't give love for money and then walk around being rude and negative to people, because if you do that, you open the door for negativity to walk into your relationships, health, happiness and finances.

just one more for the road...an oldie but goodie :-)

Twenty years ago, I drove a cab for a living. One time I arrived in the middle of the night for a pick up at a building that was dark except for a single light in a ground floor window.

Under these circumstances, many drivers would just honk once or twice, wait a minute, then drive away. But I had seen too many impoverished people who depended on taxis as their only means of transportation. Unless a situation smelled of danger, I always went to the door. This passenger might be someone who needs my assistance, I reasoned to myself. So I walked to the door and knocked.

“Just a minute,” answered a frail, elderly voice.

I could hear something being dragged across the floor. After a long pause, the door opened. A small woman in her 80′s stood before me. She was wearing a print dress and a pillbox hat with a veil pinned on it, like somebody out of a 1940s movie. By her side was a small nylon suitcase.

The apartment looked as if no one had lived in it for years. All the furniture was covered with sheets. There were no clocks on the walls, no knickknacks or utensils on the counters. In the corner was a cardboard box filled with photos and glassware.

“Would you carry my bag out to the car?” she said. I took the suitcase to the cab, then returned to assist the woman. She took my arm and we walked slowly toward the curb. She kept thanking me for my kindness.

“It’s nothing,” I told her. “I just try to treat my passengers the way I would want my mother treated.”

“Oh, you’re such a good boy,” she said. When we got in the cab, she gave me an address, then asked, “Could you drive through downtown?”

“It’s not the shortest way,” I answered quickly.

“Oh, I don’t mind,” she said. “I’m in no hurry. I’m on my way to a hospice.”

I looked in the rear view mirror. Her eyes were glistening.

“I don’t have any family left,” she continued. “The doctor says I don’t have very long.”

I quietly reached over and shut off the meter. “What route would you like me to take?” I asked.

For the next two hours, we drove through the city. She showed me the building where she had once worked as an elevator operator. We drove through the neighborhood where she and her husband had lived when they were newlyweds. She had me pull up in front of a furniture warehouse that had once been a ballroom where she had gone dancing as a girl.

Sometimes she’d ask me to slow in front of a particular building or corner and would sit staring into the darkness, saying nothing.

As the first hint of sun was creasing the horizon, she suddenly said, “I’m tired. Let’s go now.”

We drove in silence to the address she had given me.

It was a low building, like a small convalescent home, with a driveway that passed under a portico. Two orderlies came out to the cab as soon as we pulled up. They were solicitous and intent, watching her every move. They must have been expecting her. I opened the trunk and took the small suitcase to the door. The woman was already seated in a wheelchair.

“How much do I owe you?” she asked, reaching into her purse.

“Nothing,” I said.

“You have to make a living,” she answered.

“There are other passengers.”

Almost without thinking, I bent and gave her a hug. She held onto me tightly.

“You gave an old woman a little moment of joy,” she said. “Thank you.”

I squeezed her hand, then walked into the dim morning light. Behind me, a door shut. It was the sound of the closing of a life.

I didn’t pick up any more passengers that shift. I drove aimlessly, lost in thought. For the rest of that day, I could hardly talk. What if that woman had gotten an angry driver, or one who was impatient to end his shift? What if I had refused to take the run, or had honked once, then driven away? On a quick review, I don’t think that I have done anything more important in my life. We’re conditioned to think that our lives revolve around great moments. But great moments often catch us unaware—beautifully wrapped in what others may consider a small one.

If you're going through hell, keep going. A bend in the road is not the end of the road... unless you fail to make the turn. Bad is never good until worse happens. Sometimes in tragedy we find our life's purpose - the eye sheds a tear to find its focus. Turn your wounds into wisdom.

Essential Authenticity
Revealing Your True Self

Our true selves exist whether we acknowledge them or not, often buried under fears and learned behavior.

Identity is an elusive concept. We feel we must define ourselves using a relatively small selection of roles and conscious character traits, even if none accurately represents our notion of "self." The confusion surrounding our true natures is further compounded by the fact that society regularly asks us to suppress so much of our emotional, intellectual, and spiritual vibrancy. Yet we are, in truth, beings of light ~ pure energy inhabiting physical bodies, striving for enlightenment while living earthly lives. Our true selves exist whether we acknowledge them or not, often buried under fears and learned behavior. When we recognize our power, our luminosity, and our divinity, we cannot help but live authentic lives of appreciation, potential, fulfillment, and grace.

At birth and throughout your childhood, your thoughts and feelings were more than likely expressions of your true self. Though you may have learned quickly that to speak and act in a certain fashion would win others' approval, you understood innately that you were no ordinary being. There are many ways you can recapture the authenticity you once articulated so freely. Meditation can liberate you from the bonds of those earthly customs that compel you to down play your uniqueness. Also, communing with nature can remind you of the special role you were meant to play in this lifetime. In order to realize your purpose, you must embrace your true self by letting your light shine forth, no matter the consequences.

Rediscovering who you are apart from your roles and traits takes time and also courage. If, like many, you have denied your authenticity for a long while, you may find it difficult to separate your true identity from the identity you have created to cope with the world around you. Once you do find this authentic self, however, you will be overcome by a wonderful sense of wholeness as you reconcile your spiritual aspect and your physical aspect, as well as your inner- and outer-world personas. As you gradually adjust to this developing unity, your role as a being of light will reveal itself to you, and you will discover that you have a marvelous destiny to fulfill.

A Note from the Universe

Young souls use pain to learn how things are.

Mature souls use pain to learn how else things might be.

And old souls use pain to learn how else they might be.

We are all one Energy Stream, but what makes the separations or distinguishes the differences is perspective. You are a unique and individual perspective.

There is more to success than just having a goal. Having a goal is relatively easy, concentrating on the process to attain it, is the hard part.  Once we have a goal, we need to set up the steps we need to take to get there and this is hard, painstaking work.  We need to shift our focus to the nitty gritty in order to make the big stuff happen, and it is easy to get thrown off track. Mentally prepare yourself for the time and effort it is going to take to make your goal happen.  Set up a time budget as well as a dollar budget when looking at implementing your goals and build in a little "fudge factor" so you don't go into a panic if things take longer or cost more than you budgeted.

Speak Your Mind Without Fear

“Speak up! It will do your self-confidence wonders.”

If you’re in a meeting at work or at a family gathering don’t be afraid to share your thoughts, opinions, and ideas. They’re just as important as the thoughts, opinions and ideas of the others in the room.

When you don’t share your thoughts because you fear how they will be received and the reaction they may trigger, you slowly chip away at your self-confidence.

If the thought of speaking up makes your whole body tense, then start with smaller one-on-one conversations. This is perfect practice for the important occasions that will surely follow.

Daily Teaching from the Power

You will not know how you will receive what you want until you receive it, but the force of love knows. Get out of your own way, and have faith. Imagine what you want, feel the happiness inside you, and the attractive force of love will find the perfect way for you to receive it. Our human minds are limited but the intelligence of love is unlimited. Its ways are beyond our comprehension. Don't limit your life by thinking money is the only way to get something you want. Don't make money your only target, but make your target what you want to be, do, or have. If you want a new home, imagine and feel the joy of living in it. If you want beautiful clothes, appliances, or a car; if you want to go to college, move to another country, receive training in music, acting, or a sport - imagine it! All these things can come to you in an unlimited number of ways.
